‘Our Friend Jon’ is a documentary film directed by Edward Payson about a very special teenager named Jonathan Hernandez. Jonathan was a good friend of the director’s younger brother, Garrett. Johnathan had been working on a screenplay about a horror film and was hoping to have his friends star in the film. Sadly, Johnathan passed away, losing his fight with sickle cell anemia. Jon’s indomitable spirit inspired the project. The documentary is about how Jon’s friends, in honor of Jon, attempt to finish Jon’s film on their own. The film is being co-produced by Barry Morgan and Maria Olsen.
